About Activepieces

Activepieces is an automation platform that puts chat, AI agents, flows and tables in one workspace. Teams describe a job in plain words and the platform drafts the flow, or they open the visual builder for branching, retries, subflows, error handling and human approval steps. When a step needs code, TypeScript can be written inline.

The product lists 770+ integrations, called pieces, which are open-source TypeScript packages. Anything with an API can also be reached through an HTTP piece or a webhook. Agents can use any connected app and any MCP server, and steps that touch money, customers or production can be gated behind approval. Activepieces also exposes its own MCP server, so tools such as Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT can call your flows.

The core is MIT-licensed and can be run with Docker or Kubernetes on your own infrastructure, or used on Activepieces cloud, which runs in Frankfurt. Pricing is credit-based: a run costs one credit however many steps it has, AI steps cost more, and every plan includes unlimited flows. Paid plans add SSO, roles, audit logs, Git sync and support.

It is a good fit for teams that want an open-source, self-hostable alternative to Zapier or Make and are comfortable reasoning about credits. The company states its SOC 2 program is in progress, so regulated buyers should ask for its DPA and penetration test summary.
